Shannon Avis
Principal & Owner
Shannon brings over 20 years experience in high-end residential, commercial and hospitality design. She founded Cody & Co in 2010 with the belief that good design should reflect the individuality of each client. As principal of the firm, Shannon has brought together a group of designers with specific strengths to complement client needs and ensures that good design is approachable and accessible. Her warmth and Southern temperament set the tone for the firm. Shannon holds a BS in Interior Design from Auburn University. She also holds a certificate in International Tour Management from the International Tour Institute in San Francisco and a degree in Mixology.
Kate Woodard
Senior Designer
Kate is an NCIDQ certified interior designer who fully listens to client's goals to create attractive aesthetics with purposeful use of space. She has over 18 years of experience in residential, commercial, educational, and retail design and has a Colorado State University BS degree in Interior Design with a Minor in Construction Management. Joining Cody & Co in 2013, Kate serves as a project manager and technical expert for concept/planning drawings, 3D renderings, and construction design document. Kate is a Colorado native who has also lived in Massachusettes, Texas, and Europe.
Lauren Nowak
Designer
Lauren joined Cody & Co. in 2018 after moving to the Denver area from Michigan. She started her design career in high-end furniture sales and then moved to a small residential firm where she gained an appreciation for high-quality interior products and proved her talent at translating a client’s personal style into furnishings they love. Lauren plays a role in project management, construction techniques, design and specifying high-end custom furnishings. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2013 with a BS in Interior Design.
Jen Grooters
Assistant Designer
Jen began as a design intern and buyer for Cody & Co in 2018. She brings a wealth of project management experience from her former career spanning 8 years in professional research and writing to her design role managing smaller projects for clients. While concurrently pursuing an AAS degree in Interior Design, Jen holds a BA in Economics from the University of Puget Sound, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.
